STUWERTINUM - Longing for summer

From July 8 to September 13, 2021, STUWERTINUM Gallery hosted Viaraya's exhibition "Longing for Summer."

Viaraya's works are about abstract and organic forms that  with their undulating lines and curves, try to captivate the viewer and at the same time want to evoke good feelings.
The prints shown in this exhibition are part of an experiment to create small and ethereal flowers. They used a combination of techniques including fabric painting, embroidery, oil pastel crayon, graphite pencils and acrylic paints on paper.
The prints were created during the winter months when Viaraya was thinking about summer, warm days, and flowers.

Viaraya is the artist name of Valentina Araya, who has lived in Dresden for two years and is finishing her master's degree at BTU-Cottbus. She was born and raised in Santiago de Chile, where she also studied sociology. Since 2013 she has been developing this artistic project parallel to her studies.
