Studentenwerk Dresden

Our orchestra is called Werkstattorchestra, in English “workshop orchestra”. Before you ask, no: We do not make instruments by hand, instead we play instruments by hand. Every week in Dresden’s most beautiful and modern concert hall! In addition to our artistic director, the orchestra is conducted by four to five school music students from the Dresden College of Music. And this sets us apart: Besides have multiple conductors who work with us each semester, we play a broad range of music from classical music to soundtracks. Our members are largely students from various colleges and the TU Dresden. Any orchestra instrumentalist is welcome to come play with us without audition and you can look forward to a young membership, relaxed rehearsals, exciting projects and two to three great concerts at the end of each semester.
