Which types of changes do I need to inform the BAföG Office of?
As a rule, you are required to inform us of all changes to the information provided with your application. Please ask us in cases where you are uncertain whether certain changes in your life might impact your BAföG. We are happy to check for you!
Please also note the following:
In the state of Saxony, BAföG calculations are made centrally and monthly. Therefore, we can only take into account information that reaches before a given cutoff date. Any information that reaches us after this date will not impact your BAföG until the next month. But don’t worry: If we receive notification from you in due time, any claims ensuing will not be lost, not even for the past. You will receive back payments for all months in which you were entitled to receive benefits.
