Besides the monthly rent are there any other costs I will incur?
All rents include utilities, which means that costs for heating, electricity, waste disposal and cleaning of the communal rooms are included in the monthly rent. You will only incur additional costs if you need a telephone or DSN Internet connection and/ or a rented parking lot (only available at a few student halls - have a look at the notice boards in your student hall).
Tenants with a tenancy agreement running for a period of 12 months and shorter will be charged a markup of 12 EUR for not yet renovated student halls and 15 EUR for renovated student halls per place and month. Markups will not be charged if a permant tenancy with a minimum 12 months tenancy period already existed and the tenancy agreement was not suspended by a period longer than 6 months.
