What is the ThermoCup?
Change the way you drink: Reusable is the new disposable!
According to the environmental agency Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH), near 320,000 disposable cups are used per hour in Germany alone! That means that each year some three billion cups are thrown away – and each one is used on average only 15 minutes.
The sale of hot beverages in disposable cups in our canteens and cafeterias is contributing to the growth of this mountain of waste. In the long-term, this wastefulness is not compatible with our corporate philosophy, which, in addition to appreciation and community, places great value on sustainability.
The ThermoCup
Since May 2018, we have therefore been offering the ThermoCup reusable thermal cup for sale in our canteens and cafeterias.
With the support of the engineering and IT service provider FERCHAU, Studentwenwerk Dresden was able to produce a high-quality cup that goes easy on the environment and on your wallet!
Simply put – the ThermoCup is:
- Handy and light
- Leakproof
- Made of BPA-free plastic and tasteless stainless steel
- A product of the Dresden company CupTrends, manufatured in China by a company certified per environmental and social standards
