How do I apply for the KfW Student Loan?

The Student Financing Division at Studentenwerk Dresden is a business partner of KfW Bank and is happy to offer you personal guidance about the KfW Student Loan program. This student loan is intended to help you finance your living costs during your first degree, second degree, postgraduate or postdoctoral studies, independent of your parents’ income.

You are eligible to receive a KfW Student Loan if you are a legally adult student at a state or state-recognized German domestic university and are enrolled in a full-time, part-time, or vocational degree program. You must be a German citizen, an EU citizen, a family member of an EU citizen or an educational resident as well as under the age of 44.

You can choose to receive a monthly loan amount between 100.00 and 650.00 EUR. Students are generally eligible to receive the loan for as long as 14 semesters. Your first application must be filed no later than during the 10th semester.

We are happy to inform you of all the other loan terms.

You can fill out and print a loan form at www.kfw.de. Bring the unsigned loan contract offer from KfW Bank along with the following documents to Studentenwerk Dresden so we can check everything and conclude the loan contract with you:
